TRINITY 2 

Mock exam. Pupils will respond to their chosen starting point. They must produce evidence of all four assessment objectives across their final piece and sketchbook work. They will work independently and plan their own learning outcomes each lesson.  

Exploring the work of other artists/cultures. Make visual connections with their work – using artists’ work as a starting point.   

Using sketchbooks to plan and develop work. Producing lots of ideas/select most promising ones/develop ideas further. Annotating their work. Reflecting on their practise. Refining and modifying their work. Responding to feedback. Developing the skills to analyse their work. 

Explore/experiment with a range of different materials/techniques. 

MICHAELMAS 1 

Mock Exam continued.  

Pupils continue to work independently.  

Developing/refining ideas. 

Experimenting with Materials. 

Exploring different techniques. 

Record ideas, observations and insights both visually and through written annotation using appropriate specialist vocabulary, as work progresses. 

MICHAELMAS 2 

Mock Exam continued. 

Develop/complete the final piece of artwork. 

Review all planning/research and artwork – refining work as necessary. 

LENT 1 

GCSE exam. 

Externally set task. 

Paper given out January 1st (or nearest lesson). 

LENT 2 

GCSE exam. 

Continue planning artwork. 

Two exam sessions (five hours each) take place usually before the Easter holidays. 

Final artwork must be completed during this time. 

TRINITY 1 

Finishing touches to GCSE coursework. 

Displaying work for GCSE exhibition and moderation.
