We are fortunate to have a Christian Youth Worker, Simon Corner.
Simon is the only member of staff that pupils address by first name.
He helps to maintain our links with the parishes and feeder primary schools. Pupils are welcome to visit Simon in his office to chat about their successes and concerns. Simon works closely with Tutors, Pupil Managers and the Deputy Headteacher for pupil wellbeing to help our children feel safe and happy.
Simon also works with local churches and the Diocese of Blackburn to serve the needs of our young people. This involves working with ALL pupils, regardless of any faith commitment and with particular responsibility for our Christian youth.
Through various activities including collective worship, lunchtime and other clubs, the aim is to encourage young people to ask questions as they explore various aspects of the Christian faith. A worship band also supports the worship life of the school.
